Fit and operate the valve

Seat the pipe, tape or threaded connection fully and tighten without damaging it. Flush the supply before opening the valve, then inspect the joint at operating pressure. Close the valve to isolate that branch for service.

Check the tubing inside diameter against the barb size and push the tubing fully onto the fitting.
