Fit and operate the valve

Seat the pipe, tape or threaded connection fully and tighten without damaging it. Flush the supply before opening the valve, then inspect the joint at operating pressure. Close the valve to isolate that branch for service.

The handle can isolate this branch for watering or maintenance; check the joint for leaks after opening the water supply.
